I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family for their first son’s first birthday, their second son’s newborn session and now another first birthday!  I first met sweet baby J at about two weeks old.  It’s always a surprise to see how much they have changed and grown when I see my newborn clients for their first birthday photos. Baby J is the sweetest and happiest little guy!  He took a nice little nap while I set up the set in their home.

Together with Mom, we came up with a woodland creature theme.  We collected some logs, rocks, and greenery from outside to use for the set up.  I added the teepee and ONE sign covered in fake Moss, and the finishing touches are the little woodland creatures.  We were going for a rustic look and I think we achieved that.

We started with a few classic photos and he was all smiles.  Then we brought in the cake.  To our surprise, he did not take one bit of his cake!  He liked the pine combs on top of the cake rather than the cake itself.  Even though he did not eat his cake, we managed to get a few photos that made it look like he enjoyed his cake 🙂  Towards the end of the session, we let his big brother join in and show him how it is done.  Baby J enjoyed looking at his bother eating the cake, but did not want to partake.

Next, we brought in the bubble bath which was a big hit!  Baby J had so much fun splashing around in his bath and he made a big mess with the water!  The good thing is he got all nice and clean.  After the cake smash and bath, we managed to get a few family photos outside.  Again, Baby J was all smiles!  In just about 5 mins, we got some sweet photos for the family!
