I was honored to have photographed these sweet twin girls throughout their first year of life. They have been such a joy to see grow up and I hope to continue to see as they grow into childhood! I first met these beautiful twin girls for their newborn session about one year ago. It has been amazing to see them grow from the womb to beautiful toddlers!
For their first birthday photoshoot, Mom had purchased some absolutely adorable outfits. Together, we planned a soft pink and sparkly backdrop. I purchased some string beaded curtains and I just love how they glitter against the pale pink backdrop. Mom picked out some adorable first birthday outfits complete with matching birthday hats! I was really surprised the twin girls kept the hats on the whole smash and splash session. Most of the time, small children will pull off hats and and headbands, but these two girls were to busy smashing and splashing that they didn’t notice the adorable hats on their heads!
We started with a fun hot balloon photo. Mom had mentioned that she wanted a hot air balloon photo, so she made this awesome prop. We found a spot in their front yard for the photo, and with lots of photoshop magic, I was able to make them fly a little in the air! This photo was a lot time and effort, and it was all well worth it! After the hot air balloon photo, we moved into a few family portraits including their dog Walden. Mom had another super cute fall outfit for the twin girls. I was in love with their little boots!! They were a pain to keep on, but oh so cute! For the fall photos, I chose to go with a more rich edit to go with the outfit and with they birthday photos, I went with a more airy and soft edit to match their attire.
After the family and balloon photo, we moved inside for the fun smash and splash. The smash and splash started with a few tears but ended with some happy smiles. Sometimes, it takes babies some time to warm up to the cake. They have not had many sweet things in their short lives, and many times, do not like getting messy. With a little persuading, and some classic Disney music, the twin girls were having fun smashing and eating their cake! The real fun started with the splash portion of the session. These girls loved splashing each other and playing with the bubbles. I just love seeing these two interact with each other.
Enjoy these sweet twin girl photos!
