Erika Michelle will no longer take new bookings.  If your session is currently booked, we will proceed as scheduled.

I have decided to go back to my career as a special education teacher.  Due to the demands of this position, I need to take a step back from the buisness.

Sweet Sisters | Indian Trail Newborn Photographer

“Because I have a sister, I always have a Friend.”

I loved seeing this new big sister interact with her little sister. She was so tender and attentive towards her little sis. Mom joked that she finally got her real life baby doll! I feel the years of playing with her baby doll prepared her for this moment of welcoming a real baby!

I was so impressed with the interior decorations of the their home. Everything was perfect from the paint colors to the pillows! Mom wanted to capture some of the nursery and big sister’s bedroom, which I was more than happy to take!! We started with sibling photos in big sister’s gorgeous coral and peach bedroom. I had a wrap that brought out the aqua colors in the comforter perfectly! Big sister did an amazing job taking photos and we even managed to get awake photos of the new baby!

We then moved into some family photos in the nursery which was also beautifully decorated and had lovely natural light. I love the lifestyle and natural feel of the family photos. I posed them, and stepped back and captured some sweet moments amongst them. At one point, big sister was getting restless, but that was nothing a little Disney couldn’t fix. I learned she was a big fan of the Frozen movie, and lucky for her, I know all the words to “Let It Go.” My daughter, who is the same age, went through a Frozen kick and we had to sing “Let It Go” every day. I started signing Let it Go in a funny way, and it grabbed her attention enough to finish out the family portion of the session.

We then moved into a few parent photos. I always like to include a photo of Mom and Dad, because this is a special time that does not last long. Mom and Dad will look back on these photos and my hope is they will treasure them for years to come.

I hope you enjoy these sweet sisters and I hope to see them again!
