Sweet, Not Sour, Pink Lemonade | Gastonia Cake Smash Photographer

A super sweet, but not at all sour, Pink Lemonade session!  I absolutely love the happy colors of pink and bright yellow of the lemons and lemonade.  I had the pleasure of watching sweet Penelope grow from newborn to one year old!  She is such a fun spunky little girl and the session reflects her personality perfectly!  Not to mention she LOVED eating the lemons!! I think this girl is going to be a big fan of lemonade of all kinds.

Planning this Pink Lemonade sessions was so much fun!  Mom came to me a good three months in advance with this idea, so I had plenty of time to plan and prepare.  I purchased this blush pink wood backdrop that adds a little rustic feel to the set up and paired it with a simple white seamless paper on the bottom.  I really love the white colors an soft pinks of the background colors as it makes the pink and yellows really pop without too much color overload. Both Mom and I purchased bags of lemons and Mom made this sweet lemonade stand!!   I made the banner and found some baskets to fill lemons with.  We also filled pitcher and mason jar with lemonade, of course!  The set came together beautifully!

We first started with a simple photo of Penelope in an outfit she also wore as a newborn!!  Granted, the outfit was big on her as a newborn, but I was so surprised to see that she was still able to fit in it!! I don’t think I’ve even see that happen!  So naturally we had to document it 🙂  I love putting a newborn photo and a one year old photo together, especially if they are in the same prop, or in this case, the same outfit!

After this photo, we set up the pink lemonade cake smash.  We first started with photos in some sweet outfit mom had.  Little Penelope gave us so many sweet smiles and she was a big fan of lemons!  I was surprised to see her suck on the lemons. I think she was teething and the lemons felt good in her gums.  We next brought in the cake!  At first, Penelope took a few bites of the cake and felt she would rather have the lemon slices instead.  We encouraged the cake a few more times, and she did dig into it a bit, but those lemons were her favorite!  I guess she prefers sour tastes instead of sweet!  Last we moved into the bath session which was tons of fun!  Penelope loved splashing around, and it got her all clean as well!  Enjoy these sweet Lemonade cake smash photos!
