My first ever paint splash with sweet Everly. I’ve known Mom and Dad for some time and I’ve watched Everly grow from newborn to 1 year old!! She was such a sweet little girl for her session. Mom wanted a paint splash instead of the traditional cake smash. She is an art teacher for preschool students, so this session was everything mom loves. Nature, exploration, and art.
We first took some portraits with the teepee and tutu. I have known Mom and Dad for some time now, and I was so surprised they requested pink, florals and tutus! Mom and Dad have never been big into girly things, but for their little girls’ first birthday , they were all about the pink and flowers! I girled it up for them as much as I could.
We chose an outside location that had a dreamy forest feel that Mom wished. We met at Goat Island Park which was perfect, except for the monster mosquitos! I mad sure to bring bug spray and lather myself in it. Those mosquitoes were HUGE!
After some classic portraits, we changed clothes and started with the paint splash. The main goal of this session was to let Everly explore the materials. She was all in to stacking her paint cups rather than painting. One year olds always do the opposite of what you want.
Lastly we ended the session short bath. Again, since the water was room temperature, it felt cold. So the bath did not last long. It’s hard to transport water and the correct temperature for a warm but not too warm or not too cold bath. One day I will figure it out!
Enjoy
