A gorgeous maternity session nestled in the lavender fields.  This location is from a dream! The lavender was just perfect and the farmer from Carolina Lavender was so nice for allowing people on the field to photograph on it.  Purple is my all time favorite color. It has been ever since I knew what colors were!!  When I heard of lavender fields not to far from where I live, I jumped on the opportunity to find them.  I started planning these sessions in March, calling the farmer and finding out the location, fees, and directions.  The few weeks in May they were in full bloom and in all their glory!

For this maternity session, Mommy to be found her own gown and I love it so much I’m going to keep it for my client closet.  I love the lace texture and the ivory color.  The ivory went perfectly with the bold purple lavender.  She also paired it with a floral crown to complete the look.

We did a variety of poses with just Mommy to be and her funny husband. Her husband had his wife just giggling and I just love I was able to capture some real moments between them.  Soon their lives will change for the better with the addition of a sweet little boy.

We started off the session with the sun setting behind the trees, then once the sun set below the tree line, I posed my clients facing the light to allow the soft sunlight on to their faces while also illuminating the lavender.  Those images happen to be my favorite!

I can’t wait to meet their little boy in June!
