I first me this lovely family way back in Nov of 2015. I have enjoyed seeing their family grow year after year. Their three and 1 year old children are cutest!! This year, for their fall family photos, we met a Latta Plantation near Huntersville. The fall colors at this location was beautiful and I will defiantly remember this location next year! At first, the little boy was shy and just not sure of smiling for a stranger like myself. So we warmed up with some more candid fun shots. All kids l love when parents swing them and he was no exception! After we allowed their little boy to warm up, we were able to get some sweet smiles out of him.
One of my favorite family photos from this session is the photo of them sitting on the brick. I love the fall color and the texture of the brick and I knew a photo would look great here! Just out of frame from this photo are the public bathrooms! This just goes to show that you can make almost any location look nice with a little creativity. 🙂
The two children were busy, especially little sister! She was a new walker and was all about exploring nature! She enjoyed picking up leaves and acorns and each time she picked up a leaf, it was like it she had never seen it before! Since the children were busy, as all three and one year olds are, I like to incorporate more fun photos into the session to keep them interested. For example, walking and swinging, throwing into the air, having a “race” and I like to bring my wagon when little ones are involved. The wagon is always of interest with children and I’m usually able to get a nice fun photo using my wagon.
We ended the session down by the lake. By this time, both the kids were pretty much done smiling, so instead of smiling portraits, I got some fun candid photos of big brother throwing rocks in the lake. I think he liked this part of the session the most! I also love how Mom and Dad jumped in for a few photos. Baby sisters was safely in the arms of either Mom or Dad for these pictures since she would most likely want to go for a swim 🙂
Enjoy these lovely fall family photos!
