This family and new friends are absolutely beautiful inside and out! My husband Ben was went to high school with Mom and Dad (Erica and Arrington) and was good friends with the uncle of this family! Furthermore, we have the same name (Erika and Erica) and our children are about the same age. Our son’s have the given nick names of AJ and TJ and our daughters are just about the same age and both start with the letter, A. We have a lot of similarities amongst our families (: Furthermore, Erica and Arrington are high school sweet hearts! My husband and I are NOT high school sweet hearts, but I love meeting couples that are!
For their session, I suggested we meet at the Gingko trees in Ballantyne. It was Thanksgiving weekend and the trees were at full peak! These trees are very hard to predict when they will turn their beautiful fall color, and when they do turn, they do not last long. When the trees are ready, I try to get as many sessions in I can at this beautiful location. The foliage did not disappoint this year and this family looks gorgeous amongst them!
With all of my family sessions with small children, I like to start with traditional posing and then incorporate some “games” into the session. With young kids, I typically have the first 10 mins or less. So I like to include games of racing, twirling, tickling, etc into the session to keep them interested and also get some sweet and natural photos.
I hope to continue our friendship with this lovely family! Enjoy!
