Erika Michelle will no longer take new bookings.  If your session is currently booked, we will proceed as scheduled.

I have decided to go back to my career as a special education teacher.  Due to the demands of this position, I need to take a step back from the buisness.

End of Summer Maternity Session | Charlotte Pregnancy Photographer

This maternity session, which was on a rather rare cool day the end of summer, happens to be one of my favorite sessions to date!  What I love most about this session is the love between this new Mom and Dad.  They were so comfortable in front of the camera and I was able to capture some real special moments between them.

Our first original date for the session ended up being rained out, but it all turned out great because by the next scheduled day, we had the perfect summer weather!  It was unseasonably cool and dry for the end of summer in NC.  We were able to work through the session with out getting drenched in sweat!  For this session, we chose Cullman park because I love how we can get a variety of different looks in one little spot.  Mom had two outfits, the navy blue dress is an outfit she purchased, and the white gown is by Chicaboo that I purchased for her session and hope to use it again for future maternity sessions.  She looked absolute stunning in both outfits and I so wish I could grow hair like her!!  We started with some summer sun filled photos in the navy blue dress.  As we were moving through a variety of poses, I could really see how much the husband love his wife and he was not afraid to show his affection.  I was able to get some lovely and natural interaction between.  Mom was such a natural, I would give her a little direction, but she had such an awareness of her body moments facial expressions and made each pose magical.

We ended the session in the white gown and some fun balloons that the couple brought.  Mom and Dad know the gender of their baby, but are keeping it a secret 🙂  The balloons will be apart of their gender reveal!  The best part was letting the balloons go and fly into the sky.  We stayed and watched them float away until they were tiny specs.  I can’t wait to meet their little one in October!  Be on the look out!
