Rainbow baby Carter James is here!!!

Beautiful baby Carter is a miracle Rainbow baby and I’m so honored to capture these images for Mom and Dad.

We planned a pooh bear photo session for Carter.  Since Carter’s story, I wanted to incorporate a rainbow with the Winnie the pooh set up.  I purchased the perfect knitted pooh outfit from Aaja Photo Props

I then needle felted each balloon in the colors of a rainbow. The actual photo was easy to take.  I had Carter lay on his back on top of white fluff then arranged the balloons and had him hold the strings.  Sometimes a back pose can be hard to get with the newborn reflexes, but Carter was a super chill baby and easy to pose.  This image is my most favorite image and I even had it printed 20×30 canvas for my studio. The meaning behind the rainbow balloons and the journey Mom and Dad had to bring a child into this life is touching and emotional.

Mom and Dad also had a special bear in honor of their first son Henry.  I wanted to incorporate the bear into a photo with Carter.  I came up with the image with two heart bowls.  I first took a photo of Carter in the heart bowl and then I took a photo of Henry in the heart bowl and merged them together in photoshop.  I love this photo and it is so special to Mom and Dad and the whole family.

We included some family photos, photos in the nursery as well as some extra photos on a grey blue blanket.  Carter was a wonderful baby and did amazing.  I’m so glad we were able to get so many beautiful images of their precious rainbow baby.
